Italy Tour 2013

I have been leading small, exclusive culinary tours in Italy each fall since 2004, but for the last 2 years have taken a hiatus due to my job in Belize. This year, I am thrilled to continue with a 8 day tour of my very favorite regions, north to south.  I completed a Master Of Italian Cooking Program for Professional Chefs in the Marche region in 2003 and interned in Puglia and Piedmont combined with 10 years of volunteering with Slow Food on the local, National and International level so I have a wealth of contacts and friends producing and cooking some of the finest products Italy has to offer. Having learned French and German as well as Italian by working in the kitchen and during my culinary studies, I speak proficiently enough to translate during guided tours of food producers and solve pretty much any problem that might come our way.
My tours will take you to some of my favorite “off the beaten track” places, where you will meet producers and chefs, experience authentic regional cuisines and travel in comfort with a private driver, some first class train travel and a small group. You will visit and learn from producers of organic Parmagiano Reggiano, Balsamic Vinegar,Proscuitto and Culatello, Olive Oil, Barolo, Barbaresco and several other great wines, visit a 500 year old brick oven, go to markets, meet wonderful chefs and eat the freshest Adriatic seafood. (maximum 8 guests) Your tour includes all accommodations, meals, beverages and travel within Italy.
