About Me

I have been cooking proffessionally for more than half my life and I still love it.
Somewhere along the line, after living in Europe and discovering local artisan food and organic agriculture I became so opinionated about the provenence of food in the kitchen I became a liability to employ. I just could not work with mass produced industrial food so the only thing left for me to do was to start producing my own food and educating about local food systems.
I am lucky enough to live on one of Canada’s most beautiful farms, Fairburn Farm in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, where I run a Culinary Retreat and Guesthouse and cook my guests whatever I please for dinner.
